The first 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution, known as the Bill of Rights, were ratified in 1791, three years after the Constitution itself. Since then, we’ve spent over 200 years debating what these rights truly mean. Questions like, “Does the First Amendment protect pornography?” or “Does the Second Amendment cover automatic firearms?” and others, continue to spark debate. One of the most controversial rights in the Bill of Rights is the Fourth Amendment, which guarantees protection against unreasonable searches and seizures, as well as the right to privacy. Defending this right has been a challenge, especially in the post-9/11 era. How did the Fourth Amendment become a central focus during the confirmation hearings for Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel this week? Join the conversation and get answers to this question and more on According2Sam episode #282.
