'Amnesty'

According2Sam #325

One of the largest budget items in the newly passed "Big Beautiful Bill" is a significant funding increase for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). ICE is set to receive over $75 billion through 2029, in addition to its base budget of $11 billion for the year 2026. With these resources, ICE raids, arrests, and deportations are expected to rise sharply. However, during a weekend rally in Iowa, President Trump once again floated the idea of new legislation that would allow undocumented immigrants working on farms and in hotels to remain and continue working. Many of his supporters view this proposal as a betrayal and have labeled it "amnesty". They argue he is yielding to pressure from big business seeking cheap labor. Is that the case, or has he always supported some form of legal status for undocumented workers? Join the conversation and get answers to these questions and more on According2Sam episode #325.
