When President Trump accused Joe Biden of calling Black youths "Super Predators" in the debate many people assumed he was telling a falsehood, or making a mistake. Most Americans were unaware of the disparaging remarks Joe Biden made about Americans he admitted were "victims of society", many of these were poor, urban, Blacks that would be victimized further by the 1994 Crime Bill. Biden did call them "predators". He said, "unless we do something about that cadre of young people, tens of thousands of them, born out of wedlock, without parents, without any conscience developing... they will, or a portion of them will, become predators 15 years from now... we have predators on our streets... we have no choice but to take them out of society." These were not just words. As a lawmaker Biden would back up these words with a law that would do exactly what he said. However, Biden never actually used the phase "Super Predator". That was Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill Clinton signed Biden's law. It's possible that President Trump made a mistake, but it's also possible that he intentionally included the "super" to draw more attention to Biden's more disturbing statements. How were the Clinton's the even greater predators at that time, and how did they, along with Joe Biden help to create the systemic racism he now says he will fight? Join the conversation and get answers to these questions and more on According2Sam episode #70.
