According2Sam #57

We have learned a great deal about epidemics and infectious diseases in the past century, and how to battle them. We have placed an emphasis on public health to minimize risks and set standards for hygiene, sterilization, and disinfection to prevent foodborne contamination. We have developed fields of science to better understand harmful bacteria, viruses, parasites, diseases, and how they are transmitted during an outbreak, and different fields to better understand our immune systems and vaccines to control outbreaks. We have also developed cutting edge first response measures to quickly isolate and quarantine to mitigate outbreaks. These are just a few of the measures we have developed in order to keep our communities safe, but none of those measures seem to have been effective in the early weeks of the COVID-19 outbreak. This is because it started in Communist China. How did China uses disinformation to cover up the outbreak in the crucial early weeks, and how are they still using disinformation today? How could more accurate information in the early weeks have helped to prevent to global spread of the disease? Join the conversation and get answers to these questions and more on According2Sam episode #57.
