In the early stages of the development of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) President Obama told the New Yorker Magazine about the terrorist organization, “The analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a JV team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant,” It was a major understatement and miscalculation of the situation in Syria. By the time Obama realized the level of his underestimate ISIS had grown into a large army and were taking over areas in Northern Iraq and Syria. Not only did Obama fail to realize the significance of their development. He also helped aide in their development by his support of Sunni rebels in Syria in their fight to overthrow Bashar al Assad.
