Recent polls show President Trump’s approval rating has dipped into the thirties, and the same polls show him losing head to head to Biden, Sanders, Warren, Harris, and even Pete Buttigieg. This should be welcomed news for Democrats and give them a lot of confidence going into 2020. However, many prominent Democrats are still very worried behind the scenes. What worries them is that the Overton Window has noticeably shifted to the fringes of the Left in the Democratic Party, and their eventual candidate will be out of touch, even for centrist within their own Party. What worries these centrist Democrats the most about the fringe Left and ‘Twitter Mob’ driving policy in the Party, and how are 2020 candidates making a mistake by trying to appeal to them?
